This is the last Sunday Art Club for the Crossing the Tees Festival. The club invites you to join in with activities that take 5, 20 or 60 minutes to complete. Perfect for when you have a little or a lot of time to get creative.
This week we are thinking about the spaces where we like to read. Both real and imagined. Maybe it’s a cozy space, curled up on a sofa, or on a bench overlooking the sea.
Gather your Materials
- Paper
- Pencils/coloured pencils/pens or paint
Excellent. Let’s do this!
⏰ 5 minutes: Design the mood
Think of three words to describe your reading space, e.g. calm, woodland, cozy. Choose a location that fits your vision.
Design a colour palette for your space, pick 5 colours that you think work together.
⏰ 20 minutes: Dressing the Space
Is this a space for you to read or someone else?
Draw elements that will be in the space. Eg A comfy chair, blanket, lighting, plants etc.
⏰ 60 minutes: A place to Read
Combine your ideas together to create an image of a lovely reading spot. Consider drawing the reader in there too. Add atmosphere and little details to make it feel inviting.
